    The Folding Fillet is for the angler who doesn't want to carry a full fixed blade fillet knife on every trip. Whether you're kayak fishing, wading a river, bank fishing, or packing light on a backcountry trip, a fixed blade fillet knife takes up space and gets in the way. The Folding Fillet gives you a real fillet blade that folds down compact enough to fit in a tackle box, vest pocket, or pack. When you open it up, you've got a legitimate fillet knife with the flex and length to clean walleye, trout, bass, or panfish properly. This isn't a pocket knife pretending to be a fillet knife. It's a fillet knife that happens to fold.
    Blade specs and steel

    X50CrMoV15 stainless steel, hardened to 55-57 HRC. X50CrMoV15 resists corrosion from freshwater, saltwater, fish blood, and repeated wet use, which is critical for a folding knife where moisture can get into the pivot and lock mechanism. Blade length is 5 inches with an overall open length of 11.5 inches. The thin blade profile provides the flex you need to ride the backbone and contour around rib cages for clean fillets with minimal waste. Folds down to 6 1/2 inches closed for easy storage.
    Handle material and grip

    Handle material and grip: Durable handle designed to withstand constant exposure to water, fish slime, and dock-side cleaning. The handle is textured for a non-slip grip when your hands are wet and scaled. Built for repeated open-close cycles without loosening at the pivot. The ergonomic shape accommodates a full filleting grip in the open position. Hand assembled in Rapid River, Michigan.

    Care and maintenance

    RRK knives are built for hard use in the field, shop, kitchen, and everyday carry. To keep your knife performing at its best, proper care and routine maintenance are recommended.

    After each use, hand wash the knife with soap and warm water, then dry it completely. Do NOT place your knife in the dishwasher. Apply a light coat of food-safe mineral oil or knife-specific blade oil after cleaning to help protect the blade and maintain the finish, especially for knives used in the kitchen or around moisture and acidic foods.

    Avoid prolonged exposure to moisture, saltwater, blood, or acidic materials, and never leave the knife stored wet or dirty. For long-term storage, keep the knife in a cool, dry location and avoid storing it inside a leather sheath for extended periods.

    To maintain the edge, use a leather strop or carbide sharpener between full sharpenings. Avoid power grinders or excessive heat during sharpening, as overheating can damage the blade’s heat treatment and edge retention.

    Orders are typically processed and shipped within 3–4 business days. Due to the handcrafted nature of RRK knives, custom laser engraving requests, and seasonal order volume, processing times may vary.

    Once your order ships, you will receive a shipping confirmation email with tracking information. Shipping protection is available for purchase at checkout for added protection against lost or damaged packages during transit.

    There is also an option at checkout to pick up your order in-store at no charge if you plan to be in the area. Once your order is ready, the RRK team will contact you so your knife is ready and waiting when you arrive.
