I purchased one of these for my young grandson back before the company’s name changed to Rapid River. The size was perfect for him, and even though I have extremely large hands (XXXL gloves), it is comfortable for me to use as well. As with all their knives, use it for its intended purpose (gutting, skinning, cutting meat), and not for cutting/breaking bone, and the edge rarely needs re-sharpening. General care and maintenance to both the knife and sheath, and this could be passed down from generation to generation. Well worth the purchase.

I wanted a Rapid River knife for a while since I live in the UP and want to support local knife companies. I also collect knives with birdseye maple handles so when I stopped in their store I spotted this one and it was the only birdseye knife there at the time of my visit. So I bought it. It is an unusual pattern. Very well made and beautiful. I think it would make a good skinner,
