    Drop Point Hunting Knife Breakdown

    Who's this knife for?

The Drop Point is for the hunter who wants one reliable fixed blade that handles everything from the first cut to the last. The drop point blade profile is the most versatile shape in hunting knives for a reason. The spine curves downward to meet the edge, giving you a strong, controllable tip that won't accidentally puncture organs during field dressing. You get enough belly for skinning, enough tip control for caping, and enough spine strength for breaking through cartilage and joints. Whitetail, elk, mule deer, hog, it doesn't matter. This blade was designed to do the real work and do it clean. If you're the kind of hunter who carries one knife and expects it to handle everything from the stand to the truck, this is that knife.

    Blade specs and steel

D2 tool steel, hardened to 58-60 HRC. D2 holds an edge through multiple animals without needing a touch-up, which matters when you're processing game in the field and don't have time to stop and sharpen. Blade length is 3 3/4 inches with an overall knife length of 8 inches. Blade thickness is .182 inches, thick enough to handle hard use without flexing but ground thin enough to make precise cuts. Hidden tang design with a seamless handle-to-blade transition.

    Handle material and grip

Available in multiple exotic hardwood & domestic hardwood. Handle length is 4 1/4 inches. Each handle is hand-fitted and contoured to sit naturally in your palm during both standard and detailed grip positions. The hidden tang design gives the handle a clean profile and balanced weight distribution that keeps the knife from feeling blade-heavy during extended use. Hand assembled in Rapid River, Michigan.

    What's in the box?

Drop point hunting knife, fitted sheath, and care instructions. Custom laser engraving is available for logos or personalized text.

    Care and maintenance

RRK knives are built for hard use in the field, shop, kitchen, and everyday carry. To keep your knife performing at its best, proper care and routine maintenance are recommended.

After each use, hand wash the knife with soap and warm water, then dry it completely. Do NOT place your knife in the dishwasher. Apply a light coat of food-safe mineral oil or knife-specific blade oil after cleaning to help protect the blade and maintain the finish, especially for knives used in the kitchen or around moisture and acidic foods.

Avoid prolonged exposure to moisture, saltwater, blood, or acidic materials, and never leave the knife stored wet or dirty. For long-term storage, keep the knife in a cool, dry location and avoid storing it inside a leather sheath for extended periods.

To maintain the edge, use a leather strop or carbide sharpener between full sharpenings. Avoid power grinders or excessive heat during sharpening, as overheating can damage the blade’s heat treatment and edge retention.

Rapid River Knifeworks offers free sharpening and polishing for the life of every RRK knife. Simply ship the knife in and the team will restore the factory edge and finish. Customer is responsible for return shipping.
