    Pro Angler Fillet Knife Breakdown

    Who's this knife for?

The Pro Angler Fillet is for the serious fisherman who puts in real hours at the cleaning station. This isn't the knife you grab for a couple panfish. This is the blade you reach for when you're standing over a cooler full of walleye, salmon, lake trout, or steelhead and need to move through them clean and fast. The 7 inch blade gives you the length to take full-stroke fillets on bigger fish without short-cutting or sawing. If you fish the Great Lakes, charter, tournament fish, or just come home with a limit more often than not, this is the fillet knife that keeps up with you.

    Blade specs and steel

X50CrMoV15 stainless steel, hardened to 55-57 HRC. X50CrMoV15 was chosen specifically for the demands of fish processing. It resists corrosion from freshwater, saltwater, fish blood, and the constant wet environment of a cleaning station. Blade length is 7 inches with an overall knife length of 12 inches. Blade thickness is .100 inches, giving you the flex to ride along the backbone, contour around rib cages, and separate skin from meat without leaving flesh on the carcass. Full tang construction for control and feel through long filleting sessions.

    Handle material and grip

Available in wood & antler handle material. Handle length is 5 inches, built long enough for a full grip with room to choke up when you need more control on detail cuts around the head, collar, and cheeks. Each handle is hand-fitted and shaped for a secure hold when your hands are wet, slimy, and covered in scales. Hand assembled in Rapid River, Michigan.

    What's in the box?

Pro Angler fillet knife, fitted sheath, and care instructions. Custom laser engraving is available for logos or personalized text.

    Care and maintenance

RRK knives are built for hard use in the field, shop, kitchen, and everyday carry. To keep your knife performing at its best, proper care and routine maintenance are recommended.

After each use, hand wash the knife with soap and warm water, then dry it completely. Do NOT place your knife in the dishwasher. Apply a light coat of food-safe mineral oil or knife-specific blade oil after cleaning to help protect the blade and maintain the finish, especially for knives used in the kitchen or around moisture and acidic foods.

Avoid prolonged exposure to moisture, saltwater, blood, or acidic materials, and never leave the knife stored wet or dirty. For long-term storage, keep the knife in a cool, dry location and avoid storing it inside a leather sheath for extended periods.

To maintain the edge, use a leather strop or carbide sharpener between full sharpenings. Avoid power grinders or excessive heat during sharpening, as overheating can damage the blade’s heat treatment and edge retention.

Rapid River Knifeworks offers free sharpening and polishing for the life of every RRK knife. Simply ship the knife in and the team will restore the factory edge and finish. Customer is responsible for return shipping.
