    Bushcraft Knife | BC1 Breakdown

    Who's this knife for?

The BC1 is built for the hunter, camper, and survivalist who needs one knife that does everything in the backcountry. This isn't a dedicated skinner or a dedicated fillet knife. It's a do-it-all bushcraft blade designed to handle game processing, batoning wood, carving, camp setup, and general survival tasks. The curved blade profile gives you enough belly for skinning while the thick spine handles heavy-duty tasks like splitting kindling without flexing or chipping. If you pack deep into public land and need to keep your kit minimal, this is the one fixed blade that covers the most ground.

    Blade specs and steel

D2 tool steel, hardened to 58-60 HRC. D2 delivers superior edge retention and wear resistance for extended use in the field without frequent sharpening. Blade length is 5 1/2 inches with an overall knife length of 9 3/4 inches. Blade thickness is .200 inches, giving you a heavy-duty spine built for batoning and prying without compromising the cutting edge. Full tang construction runs the entire length of the handle for maximum strength and balance under hard use.

    Handle material and grip

G-10 composite handle is a fiberglass-epoxy laminate chosen specifically for bushcraft use. It won't crack, warp, or swell when exposed to moisture, extreme temperatures, or heavy impact. The textured surface provides a non-slip grip in wet, cold, or bloody field conditions. The BC1 is also available in a variety of hardwood handles. Handle length is 4 1/4 inches with an ergonomic contour designed to reduce hand fatigue during extended use like batoning or carving. Hand assembled in Rapid River, MI.

    What's in the box?

BC1 bushcraft knife, your choice of a handmade leather belt sheath or a custom-molded Kydex sheath, a ferrocerium fire striker rod with dedicated pocket on the sheath, and care instructions. The leather sheath features a snap-lock mechanism and lanyard loop. The Kydex sheath offers adjustable retention, MOLLE-compatible snap clips, and a pull-tab fire striker pocket. Custom laser engraving is also available to make your knife uniquely yours

    Care and maintenance

RRK knives are built for hard use in the field, shop, kitchen, and everyday carry. To keep your knife performing at its best, proper care and routine maintenance are recommended.

After each use, hand wash the knife with soap and warm water, then dry it completely. Do NOT place your knife in the dishwasher. Apply a light coat of food-safe mineral oil or knife-specific blade oil after cleaning to help protect the blade and maintain the finish, especially for knives used in the kitchen or around moisture and acidic foods.

Avoid prolonged exposure to moisture, saltwater, blood, or acidic materials, and never leave the knife stored wet or dirty. For long-term storage, keep the knife in a cool, dry location and avoid storing it inside a leather sheath for extended periods.

To maintain the edge, use a leather strop or carbide sharpener between full sharpenings. Avoid power grinders or excessive heat during sharpening, as overheating can damage the blade’s heat treatment and edge retention.

Rapid River Knifeworks offers free sharpening and polishing for the life of every RRK knife. Simply ship the knife in and the team will restore the factory edge and finish. Customer is responsible for return shipping.
